Now then, those two numbers at the top likely do not mean much to you. They will at the end of this piece. Numbers, they say statistics can be manipulated to mean just about anything. Those numbers cannot really be manipulated at all, as far as I am aware they are accurate and could really only mean one thing in the current global climate and enthusiasm for stacking the cash. That being the start of the process that brings about our extinction moment, "our" in this context means all of us. The entire human race.
The first above number is the distance between American and Iran. Quite a long way that is, the distance being in miles.I have no way to calculate this, but I would imagine it is further than I will travel in my lifetime. America has a huge population, that being about 327M, so it is safe to say they all reside in geographical safety from any potential large scale threat from Iran. Well, actually they all reside in geographical safety from just about any other country on earth, unless Canada gets very carried away by ice hockey rivalry at some point. When I watch that sport-not often- I am at a distinct disadvantage, first I find it very tedious, secondly I cannot follow the puck.
The second number above is the number of nukes that the US is said to have in its arsenal. That is an awful lot of large scale death and destruction to have access to.
Again I have no way to calculate this, but I imagine that it is way more than enough to end the future of our planet. Why then, do they need all this military death at their disposal? Few ways of looking at that, I take this particular view. America has spent many decades manufacturing a world view that adds up to it being seen as out of control, and even worse, being beyond any vestige of ever being able to be reasonably controlled. These views of America have simmered away for a long time, there was a sort of lull during the reign of Obama, the "rock star" President came across as more or less on the level, people bought into his charisma and seeming honesty when it came to trivial matters like owning 6800 nukes. What would America give to have him in the Oval Office now?
So, it is my view that America knows it is detested across the planet at all levels. It sits at the very top of the list of countries that are not looked upon well , when an American walks the streets of many other countries now they know they are looked upon with deep suspicion and in far too many cases seen as gun toting lunatics. This is not actually fair, though, sadly it is understandable. Firstly, Americans that I have met have all been very warm and very friendly, willing to stop and yakk, and eager to find out about the people around them and the culture they are visiting. Until that is, you say something critical of them, or their country. This is due to the global coverage of such things as relentless mass shootings, their enormous drug problems or their antics on battlefields across the globe through the entirety of history. The majority of Americans do not own a damn gun, or take drugs. Yet the world firmly believes they do. This is wrong.
There have been occasions in history where the USA did the correct thing by going to war, where would we be without their massive assistance in WW2? Unfortunately for the millions of peace loving yanks, that is now all undone by events since. There are far too many examples of war being declared for spurious reasons, and plainly based upon lies and lack of evidence. Worse than that there are instances of truth being hidden, and outright damning statements being made with straight faces, with the sole intention of conning all of us. And they got away with it. Therein lies the problem, the credibility of America has long since fallen below the point where they can be taken seriously when it comes to Foreign Policy and killing populations. That 6800 figure grows ever more scarier by the second. At the end of this piece I will provide you with a very small number, which is a whole lot scarier.
So, that orange lunatic has pulled out of the long term Iranian nuclear deal. A deal which took years, and much give and take to put together. A deal which went a very long way towards putting in place preventative measures. A deal which did actually contribute to maybe prolonging many thousands of lives. A deal which was seen as being so vital that The UK, France, Russia, China and Germany all signed up to it.
I can assure you that the combined Foreign Policy brains of those countries are not easily conned. They are sharp beyond belief. they know what is what. They all signed on the dotted line because they believed in it.
The Koreans have taken huge strides recently, why the hell should they take any lectures form the Americans now? It would not surprise me at all if they requested that Trump stays well away form their brave and civilised approach to resolving their issues.
Iran has had inspectors monitoring its nuclear operations for years, there is no evidence of any shady goings on, there is NO EVIDENCE that they are building a bomb, which brings us neatly back to that credibility problem the USA has. Trump is now flexing his muscles and demanding that crippling sanctions be imposed upon Iran, thereby punishing ordinary Iranians, not only that he is instructing other countries to wind down all relations with that country in the next 90 to 180 days. I have to ask, who the hell is he to decide what other countries do? This idiot really is now totally off he leash. This is a major worry for us all.
So, that small number I mentioned earlier. It really is very small. It equates to the number of brain cells Mr President actually has. It may well equate to the number of people possibly left alive on this planet in three years time if all those nukes get launched. it is also the number of nukes that Iran has at its disposal.
that number being ZERO.
The following is extracted from a great speech given by FDR in 1953.
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.
I simply cannot follow that.
